Mr Lui Tuck Yew

RADM Lui Tuck Yew was appointed as Acting Minister for Information, Communications & the Arts on 1 April 2009.

He was an SAF (overseas) scholar, graduating with a degree in Chemistry from Trinity College in the United Kingdom in 1983. He subsequently served in the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), rising to the position of Chief of Navy in 1999. He was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) (Military) in 2000.

RADM Lui Tuck Yew was appointed Deputy Secretary (Land), Ministry of Transport, on 1 April 2004, a post he held concurrently with the appointment as Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore on 1 July 2003.

RADM Lui Tuck Yew joined the Housing and Development Board (HDB) as Chief Executive Officer and was appointed Board Member in June 2005.

RADM Lui Tuck Yew was elected as Member of the Parliament and was appointed Minister of State, Ministry of Education on 30 May 2006.

RADM Lui Tuck Yew was appointed as Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Information, Communications & the Arts on 1 April 2008.

RADM (NS) Lui Tuck Yew was born on 16 August 1961. He is married to Soo Fen and has two children. He enjoys travelling, reading, cricket, baseball and football.
