OFFICIAL VISIT BY SENIOR MINISTER GOH CHOK TONG TO LIBYA
FROM 5 TO 8 MAY 2008

  
                   Senior Minister (SM) Goh Chok Tong will make an official visit to the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahirya from 5 to 8 May 2008 at the invitation of the Libyan Government.  SM will be the most senior Singapore leader to visit Libya.  This is SM's first visit to Libya and will complete SM's recent series of visits to the Maghreb countries, namely Algeria, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia.  The visit will further strengthen Singapore's political and economic relations with Libya

                          During the visit, SM is scheduled to meet key Libyan leaders and senior officials.   SM will also witness the signing of MOUs between the Singapore Business Federation and the Libyan Businessmen Council and between Singapore and Libyan companies. 

                         SM will be accompanied by Mrs Goh, Minister for National Development Mah Bow Tan, Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Zainul Abidin Rasheed, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry S Iswaran, senior government officials and a business delegation.
