COMMENTS BY PRESS SECRETARY TO THE SENIOR MINISTER: CALL BY CHAIR OF THE COMMISSION ON GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT PROFESSOR MICHAEL SPENCE ON SENIOR MINISTER GOH CHOK TONG

The Chair of the Commission on Growth and Development and Nobel Laureate Professor Michael Spence called on Senior Minister and Chairman, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) Goh Chok Tong at MAS this morning.  Senior Minister Goh is a member of the Commission on Growth and Development, which had released its final report entitled “The Growth Report: Strategies for Sustained Growth and Inclusive Development” in May 2008.

During the call, Senior Minister Goh and Professor Spence discussed the response and follow-up to the Growth Report.  They also exchanged views on global economic developments.
