I would like to congratulate all the members of the Singapore Women's Everest Team for achieving your dream of reaching the highest peak in the world. This is a major milestone for Singaporean women and the local sporting fraternity. I was deeply impressed by your meticulous preparation, determination, courage and tenacity. It took more than five years of hard work, in physical training, team building and fund raising. I am also glad that in your journey to the top, you made numerous efforts to introduce mountaineering as a sport to many other young Singaporeans. All Singaporeans are proud of your achievement, and rejoice with you. Have a safe journey back to Singapore.
