Ex-UN chief calls on PM Lee

Visiting former United Nations secretary-general Kofi Annan called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana yesterday.
A Foreign Affairs Ministry statement said they had a warm and friendly exchange of views on regional and global developments.
Mr Annan, who has been appointed the first Li Ka Shing Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore (NUS), arrived on Wednesday and will be here till March 3.
The 71-year-old, who was UN chief from 1997 to 2006, will deliver a public lecture on links between Asia and Africa at the NUS today.
