SEOUL: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong mingled with Singaporeans living in Seoul and received an insight into life in South Korea at a reception in The Shilla Hotel in the Korean capital.

About 50 businessmen, professionals and students there last night exchanged views with him and took the opportunity to get one for the album. They posed with Mr Lee, Foreign Minister George Yeo and Trade and Industry Minister Lim Hng Kiang.

Among the Singaporeans was Mr Jerry Gan, president of the Singapore Club Seoul and general manager of Fraser Suites Insadong. He welcomed South Korea's new move to build closer ties with Singapore and Asean, saying it could also fuel growth for South Korea.

PM Lee also met South Korean businessmen at a separate event in the hotel.

He urged them to use Singapore as a gateway to South-east Asia and the rest of the world.

Mr Lee is on a week-long North-east Asia trip that includes China, which he will visit from tomorrow.
