Official Visit by PM Lee Hsien Loong to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, 22 to 24 January 2018

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make an Official Visit to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka from 22 to 24 January 2018, at the invitation of Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena.

PM Lee will call on President Sirisena, who will also host an Official Lunch. PM Lee will witness the signing of the Sri Lanka-Singapore Free Trade Agreement, and will meet and be hosted to a dinner by Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. PM Lee will also receive a courtesy call from Leader of the Opposition in the Sri Lankan Parliament R Sampanthan.

PM Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) S Iswaran, Members of Parliament Liang Eng Hwa and Saktiandi bin Supaat, as well as officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry.

PM Lee will visit New Delhi from 24 to 26 January 2018 to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit.

During PM Lee’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will be Acting Prime Minister.
