Visit by DPM Teo Chee Hean to the People's Republic of China, 28 Jun to 6 Jul

DPM and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will visit China (Beijing, Tianjin, Guangxi, Chongqing and Gansu) from 28 June to 6 July 2018.

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will visit China (Beijing, Tianjin, Guangxi, Chongqing and Gansu) from 28 June to 6 July 2018.  

In Beijing, DPM Teo will meet Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Han Zheng, who is also co-chair of the Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation.  DPM Teo will also meet Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC and Director of the CPC Central Committee Foreign Affairs Commission General Office Yang Jiechi, as well as other Chinese leaders.

In Tianjin, DPM Teo will meet Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC and Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee Li Hongzhong.  DPM Teo will also visit the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city.  

In Guangxi, DPM Teo will meet Secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee Lu Xinshe, and visit the Guangxi Qinzhou Free Trade Port Area.  

DPM Teo will visit Chongqing where he will meet Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC and Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee Chen Min’er.  DPM Teo will also visit the Guoyuan Port.  DPM Teo will be discussing the positive developments in the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity, including the Southern Transport Corridor. 

After Chongqing, DPM Teo will travel to Gansu to deliver a keynote speech at the Opening Ceremony of the 24th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair, which has designated Singapore as Country-of-Honour.  DPM Teo will also meet Secretary of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee Lin Duo. 

DPM Teo will be accompanied by Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong (for Beijing and Tianjin), Senior Minister of State (Trade and Industry) Dr Koh Poh Koon (for Guangxi), Senior Parliamentary Secretary (Transport) (Culture, Community and Youth) Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary (Home Affairs) (National Development) Sun Xueling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary (Foreign Affairs) (Trade and Industry) Dr Tan Wu Meng, as well as senior officials from the relevant ministries and agencies.
