Visit by President of France Emmanuel Macron - May 2025

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong welcomed President of France Emmanuel Macron to Singapore on 29 - 30 May 2025.

PM Wong and President Macron visited Lau Pa Sat to experience Singapore’s hawker culture and local food scene. PM Wong also separately hosted him for dinner.

President Macron and PM Wong launched the Singapore-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and witnessed the conclusion of 13 agreements in sectors ranging from defence and security to education. PM Wong remarked that France is the first European country that Singapore has a CSP with. The CSP is testament to Singapore’s commitment to further strengthening Singapore-France cooperation.
