Visit to Japan and G20 Summit - Jun 2019

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong made a working visit to Osaka, Japan to participate in the 14th G20 Leaders’ Summit, at the invitation of His Excellency Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, from 27 to 30 June 2019.

PM Lee met PM Abe and his delegation on 27 June 2019, ahead of the summit. 

PM Lee participated in discussions at the G20 Leaders’ Summit. The theme for the Japanese G20 Presidency was promoting a free and open, inclusive and sustainable, human-centred future society. PM Lee also had bilateral meetings with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman, Netherlands PM Mark Rutte, Indian PM Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Jair Messias Bolsonaro on the sidelines of the Summit.

PM Lee was accompanied by DPM Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, and senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
