Visit to Russia - May 2016
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong made a working visit to Russia from 17 to 20 May 2016. PM Lee visited Moscow from 17 to 19 May 2016, and Sochi from 19 to 20 May 2016 to attend the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit. This was PM Lee’s first bilateral visit to Russia.
In Moscow, PM Lee met with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin, and Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan. PM Lee also met with the Singapore community in Moscow.
In Sochi, PM Lee attended the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of ASEAN-Russia relations. PM Lee also called on President Vladimir Putin, and had meetings with Vietnam PM Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and Indonesian President Joko Widodo on the side-lines of the Summit.
