DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam to address government leaders in Delhi on 26 August 2016

Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam is visiting Delhi to address top policy-makers on “Fulfilling India’s Potential in the Global Economy” on 26 August 2016. He has been invited to deliver the inaugural lecture in a series of “NITI Lectures on Transforming India”, to be launched by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 26 August. The inaugural lecture will be attended by Prime Minister Modi and his Cabinet, senior government officials and state Chief Ministers. The lecture series is convened by NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India), the economic policy think-tank of the Indian government.

During his visit, DPM Tharman will also call on Prime Minister Modi, and meet with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and other government leaders.

On 27 August, DPM will officiate at the inauguration of Ascendas-Singbridge’s (ASB) International Tech Park (ITP) in Gurgaon, Haryana. The US$400 million ITP project is ASB’s first major investment in North India.

DPM Tharman will be accompanied by officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Finance.
