Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good evening. First, I would like to convey my congratulations to the Singapore Chang Clan General Association on your 85th anniversary. I also congratulate the Chin Ho Teo Clan Association on your 67th anniversary.
Over the years, the Chang Clan General Association has made important contributions to Singapore’s development. The association has also worked together with other ethnic and religious organisations to build a united society.
We have faced many challenges over the past few years. But thanks to the patience, understanding and cooperation of all Singaporeans, we have managed to stabilise the pandemic situation. Through several Budgets and support packages, the government supported our families and our people to deal with the challenges. The measures helped our companies to resume operations, and establish good foundations for the future. The government has also increased subsidies and training opportunities for our workers. I am happy that the Chang Clan General Association has also made many contributions to help your members and fellow Singaporeans to deal with the pandemic.
Today, members of the Chang Clan are gathered here. Each of us comes from different fields and professions, with different life experiences. I hope that members of the Chang Clan from around the world will continue to excel in your respective fields, and make important contributions to the world’s development, peace and stability.
I am also happy to see the energy and enthusiasm of the Youth Chapter and I hope they will continue to contribute to the future of Chang Clan. I wish everyone good health and all the very best.
