DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam to visit Beijing for China Development Forum (Mar 2019)

DPM and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will visit Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, from 22 to 26 March 2019 to speak at the China Development Forum.

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will visit Beijing, the People’s Republic of China from 22 to 26 March 2019 to speak at the China Development Forum, at the invitation of the China Development Research Foundation.

Deputy Prime Minister Tharman will deliver the keynote speech on “The Future of the Global Financial Architecture” at the China Development Forum. During his visit, Deputy Prime Minister Tharman will also meet with Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of State Council of China Sun Chunlan, Chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission Guo Shuqing, Governor of the People’s Bank of China Yi Gang, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission Yi Huiman, and leaders of Chinese financial institutions. Deputy Prime Minister Tharman will also meet Beijing companies, and international business leaders who are attending the China Development Forum.

Deputy Prime Minister Tharman will be accompanied by officials from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Economic Development Board.
