Joint news release by PMO and MHA on leadership changes at CPIB and ICA

Joint news release by the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Home Affairs on leadership changes at Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority on 30 August 2010.

 

Mr Eric Tan Chong Sian, Commissioner of Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), will take over as Director, Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) on 1 October 2010. He succeeds Mr Soh Kee Hean who will be seconded to the Ministry of National Development as Deputy Executive Director (Designate), Council for Estate Agencies (CEA). The CEA will be formed towards the end of this year. Mr Eric Tan will relinquish his appointment as Commissioner ICA on 1 September 2010 and join CPIB as Director - designate.

Mr Soh Kee Hean became Director CPIB in 2005. Under his leadership, CPIB has developed new operational capabilities to deal with emerging challenges and contributed to international efforts in anti-corruption. He chaired the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Anti-Corruption and Transparency Experts Task Force in 2009. The Bureau has also expanded its outreach efforts to the public sector and the business community.

Mr Clarence Yeo Gek Leong, 51, who is currently the Deputy Commissioner (Operations) of ICA, will take over as Commissioner ICA on 1 September 2010.
