MFA Press Statement: Condolence message from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta on the gun attack at Westgate Mall on 21 September 2013

Dear President Kenyatta,

On behalf of the Government and people of Singapore, I offer my deepest condolences on the senseless gun attack at Westgate Mall. I was especially saddened to learn that your nephew was one of the victims.

Singapore strongly condemns this act of terror which has claimed so many innocent lives. It is a painful reminder that we must remain vigilant and resolute in countering terrorism.

I am confident that Kenyans will overcome this latest tragedy with fortitude and resilience. Our thoughts are with you and your country during this difficult time.
