MFA Press Statement: Visit to Singapore by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Kingdom of Thailand (19 to 20 January 2013)

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of the Kingdom of Thailand will visit Singapore from 19 to 20 January 2013.

While in Singapore, Her Royal Highness will be hosted to lunch on 20 January 2013 by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Mrs Lee.  Her Royal Highness will meet Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Research Foundation Teo Chee Hean, and attend the Opening Ceremony of the Global Young Scientists Summit later in the afternoon.

Her Royal Highness, accompanied by Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan, will officiate a planting ceremony of a lychee tree she had donated to Gardens by the Bay.  In addition, Her Royal Highness will visit the Singapore Philatelic Museum exhibition "The Postal Connection: Singapore and Thailand" and the Asian Civilisations Museum exhibition “Enlightened Ways: The Many Streams of Buddhist Art in Thailand”.  Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong and Senior Parliamentary Secretary of State for Culture, Community and Youth and Foreign Affairs Sam Tan will host Her Royal Highness' visit to the Asian Civilisations Museum.
