PM Lee Hsien Loong will make an official visit to Sydney, Australia from 15 to 18 March 2018 at the invitation of Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

 
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make an official visit to Sydney, Australia from 15 to 18 March 2018 at the invitation of Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.  While in Sydney, PM Lee will participate in the 3rd Singapore-Australia Leaders’ Summit, an annual meeting established under the 2015 Singapore-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.  He will also attend the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit. 
 
Prime Minister Lee will have separate meetings with Chief Commissioner of the Greater Sydney Commission Lucy Turnbull and New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian.  He will also meet with overseas Singaporeans at a reception.  
 
As ASEAN Chair, Prime Minister Lee will co-chair the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit with Prime Minister Turnbull.  The Governor-General of Australia Peter Cosgrove will also host the ASEAN Leaders to lunch.  On the sidelines of the Special Summit, Prime Minister Lee will deliver an opening speech at the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Conference of the ASEAN-Australia Business Summit, as well as witness the signing of the ASEAN-Australia Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation to Combat International Terrorism.  
 
Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry) S Iswaran and Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for National Development Desmond Lee, and senior officials from Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 
 
During Prime Minister Lee’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will be the Acting Prime Minister.
