Working visit by SM Goh Chok Tong to Guangzhou and Shanghai, People’s Republic of China (2010)

Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will make a working visit to Guangzhou (Guangdong Province) in the People’s Republic of China from 30 June to 1 July at the invitation of Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua.

 

Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will make a working visit to Guangzhou (Guangdong Province) in the People’s Republic of China from 30 June to 1 July at the invitation of Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua.

During the visit, Senior Minister Goh will meet the leaders of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City. Senior Minister Goh will, together with Guangdong Party Secretary Wang Yang, officiate at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Knowledge City, a joint project to be developed by Singbridge International Pte Ltd and Guangzhou Development District. Singbridge International is wholly-owned by Temasek Holdings. Its mission is to invest in, develop and manage integrated cities and provide sustainable urban solutions overseas. Singbridge’s strategic intent is to capitalise on the two global mega trends of massive urbanisation and environmental improvement, especially in Asia, to create a new growth platform for Singapore.

Senior Minister Goh will also visit the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai from 1 to 2 July.

Senior Minister Goh will be accompanied by Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts RAdm (NS) Lui Tuck Yew and senior officials. Minister of State for Trade and Industry, and Manpower Lee Yi Shyan will also join Senior Minister Goh for the visit to Guangzhou.
