PM Lee Hsien Loong to attend the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington D.C. (Apr 2010)

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will attend the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington D.C. from 12 to 13 April 2010 at the invitation of US President Barack Obama.

 

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be travelling to the US to attend the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington D.C. from 12 to 13 April 2010 at the invitation of US President Barack Obama.

Leaders of 45 countries are expected to attend the Summit. They will discuss the threat of nuclear terrorism and measures that can be taken to reduce the threat. After Washington, PM will travel to Chicago from 14 to 16 April 2010 and will deliver a speech at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

During his visit, PM will also be meeting with key political and economic figures in the US. PM will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Environment Agency.

PM Lee will be on private leave from 17 to 20 April 2010. During PM’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean will be the Acting Prime Minister from 11 to 18 April 2010 and Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng will be the Acting Prime Minister from 19 to 20 April 2010.
