SM Tharman Shanmugaratnam to visit Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kenya, France and Turkey (Jul 2019)

Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kenya, France and Turkey from 14 to 18 July for international conferences and bilateral meetings.

 

Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kenya, France and Turkey from 14 to 18 July for international conferences and bilateral meetings.

Senior Minister Tharman will be in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on 14 July for meetings with Saudi Ministers to discuss bilateral and international cooperation. He will also be having a dialogue with senior bankers and officials, hosted by the Saudi Arabia Monetary Authority.

Senior Minister Tharman will be in Nairobi, Kenya, on 15 July to speak at the inaugural Afro-Asia FinTech Festival organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), which will bring together over 100 speakers from 29 countries. Senior Minister Tharman will also witness the signing of the FinTech Cooperation Agreement between MAS and CBK at the Festival. He will also be meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, and Cabinet Secretary of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and
Public Works James Macharia.

On 16 July, Senior Minister Tharman will speak at the Bretton Woods Conference in Paris, France on reforms to the international monetary system, and
meet with business leaders.

Senior Minister Tharman will also be visiting Istanbul and Ankara on 17 to 18 July. He will be meeting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Treasury
and Finance Berat Albayrak, as well as business leaders in Turkey.
