DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam to Visit Germany, Brussels and the United Kingdom, 23 to 30 January 2017

DPM and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will be visiting Germany, Brussels and the United Kingdom from 23 to 30 January 2017.

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will be visiting Germany, Brussels and the United Kingdom from 23 to 30 January 2017.

In Stuttgart, Germany, DPM Tharman will meet industry leaders and visit various institutes involved in industry transformation and skills training.  

DPM Tharman will also travel to Wiesbaden, Germany, to give a keynote speech at a Group of Twenty (G20) conference on digital finance and financial inclusion hosted by the German Bundesbank on 25 January 2017. He will in addition meet other government leaders while at the conference. 

In Brussels, DPM Tharman will meet leaders of the European Commission and be hosted at a dialogue organised by European think tank Bruegel.  

DPM Tharman will then visit London, where he will deliver a public lecture on “Inclusive Prosperity: Making it Possible”, at the London School of Economics (LSE) on 30 January 2017. He will also meet government and business leaders in London, as well as attend a Lunar New Year event for Singaporeans based in the UK on 29 January 2017. 

DPM Tharman will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Monetary Authority of Singapore and Prime Minister’s Office.
