Working Visit by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to The United States of America, 21 – 26 June 2014

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make a working visit to the United States from 21 – 26 June 2014.  PM will visit Washington DC and New York City.  PM’s last visit to the United States was in April 2013. 

In Washington DC, PM will have meetings in the White House and with several Cabinet Secretaries, as well as principal figures in the US Senate and House of Representatives.  PM will deliver a speech at a reception to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement co-hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce and the US-ASEAN Business Council.  He will also speak at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).      

In New York City, PM will meet business and industry leaders.  PM will also launch Temasek Holdings’ New York Office. 

PM will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Minister for Manpower Tan Chuan-Jin, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Charles Chong, Member of Parliament Dr Janil Puthucheary, as well as officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean, will be the Acting Prime Minister.
