Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make an Official Visit to the United Mexican States from 17 to 20 November 2019.

 

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make an Official Visit to the United Mexican States from 17 to 20 November 2019 at the invitation of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

 

During the visit, Prime Minister Lee will meet and be hosted to lunch by President López Obrador. Secretary of External Relations Marcelo Ebrard Casaubόn will separately host Prime Minister Lee to lunch along with several Mexican Governors.

 

Prime Minister Lee will address the Mexican Senate and meet the President of the Political Board of the Senate Ricardo Monreal Ávila. Prime Minister Lee will also be presented with the Distinguished Guest of the City Medal by Mayor of Mexico City Dr Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. Prime Minister Lee will also meet Mexican business leaders, and participate in a dialogue with the Mexican business community.

 

Singapore and Mexico will exchange Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation in the areas of science and technology, water resources, culture, industrial property, and international development.

 

Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman, and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Education, Mr Chee Hong Tat. He will also be accompanied by officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Enterprise Singapore, as well as a business delegation.

 

During the absence of Prime Minister Lee, Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance will be the Acting Prime Minister.
