Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will visit London, the United Kingdom (UK), from 9 to 13 June 2019. Minister for Education Ong Ye Kung and Senior Parliamentary Secretary (SPS), Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry for Trade and Industry, Dr Tan Wu Meng will also be visiting London in the same week. The City of London Corporation will also confer upon Senior Minister Tharman the Freedom of the City of London, in recognition of his efforts to strengthen ties between Singapore and the City, and his significant contributions to global financial governance.

Senior Minister Tharman will also deliver the keynote address at the 10th Anniversary Conference of the Institute for Government, and attend the GIC Investment Forum.

In addition, Senior Minister Tharman, together with the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Peter Estlin, will open a three-day festival, organised by the Singapore Tourism Board to commemorate Singapore’s Bicentennial.
