Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Perth, Australia

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will attend the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Perth, Australia from 28 to 30 October 2011. At the meeting, the Commonwealth Heads of Government are expected to discuss global and regional issues of concern and review developments in the Commonwealth. The theme for the 2011 CHOGM is “Building National Resilience, Building Global Resilience”.

PM will also have bilateral meetings with other Commonwealth leaders at the sidelines of CHOGM. In addition, PM will attend a community event, hosted by the Singapore High Commissioner in Australia, for the Singaporean community residing in Perth and Western Australia.

PM will be accompanied by senior officials from the Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During Mr Lee's absence, Mr Teo Chee Hean, DPM & Co-ordinating Minister for National Security and Minster for Home Affairs will be the Acting Prime Minister for the period 27 to 30 October 2011
