Guangzhou Party Secretary Zhu Xiaodan called on SM Goh Chok Tong at the Istana this afternoon. Party Secretary Zhu is in Singapore from 19-22 July 2009 to get a better understanding of Singapore's experience in urban and industrial development. SM last met Party Secretary Zhu during SM's visit to Guangdong in March this year. During the meeting today, SM and Party Secretary Zhu discussed opportunities for further collaboration between Singapore and Guangzhou. Party Secretary Zhu updated SM on the successful completion of the feasibility study for the Knowledge City project in Guangzhou. SM expressed support for the project as a platform to deepen cooperation between the two sides.
