Dear Excellency,
Congratulations on the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan’s resounding victory in the Lower House elections.
Singapore and Japan share a longstanding and strong relationship. Our bilateral relations are comprehensive, comprising deep economic links and mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as defence, health and cultural exchanges. We will continue to support Japan’s recovery efforts from the Tohuku disasters last year.
Singapore remains committed to a peaceful and prosperous Asia, and believes that Japan has a major contribution to make in building such a region. We will work closely with Japan in ASEAN and other multilateral fora to achieve this goal.
I look forward to working closely with you once again to improve our bilateral ties. I wish you good health and success as you lead Japan forward.
