DPM Heng Swee Keat to Visit France (Apr 2025)

Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Research Foundation (NRF) Heng Swee Keat will make a working visit to Paris, France from 6 to 10 April 2025.

Deputy Prime Minister Heng’s visit to France builds on the positive momentum of high-level exchanges between Singapore and France. The visit reaffirms the longstanding, multifaceted, and strong relations between Singapore and France, as both countries commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. Both sides will explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including in research and innovation, as well as exchange views on regional and international developments.

Deputy Prime Minister Heng will meet senior political and business leaders, academics as well as other personalities from financial institutions and the private sector. He will engage leading research institutions in France to strengthen the linkages between the Singapore and French research and innovation ecosystems. Building on this, two new agreements will be inked between Singapore and French research institutes on research cooperation in quantum technologies and infectious diseases. Deputy Prime Minister Heng will also host an engagement with Singaporeans working and studying in France. 

Deputy Prime Minister Heng will be accompanied by officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, National Research Foundation, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
