An exchange of letters between Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Tharman Shanmugaratnam on 13 May 2024, whereby PM Lee informed President Tharman of his intention to resign as Prime Minister on 15 May 2024. PM Lee also formally advised President Tharman to invite Mr Lawrence Wong, who commands the confidence of the majority of Members of Parliament, to form the next government.
