On behalf of the Government and people of Singapore, I offer my warmest congratulations on Your Highness’ succession as Emir of the State of Qatar.
Your Highness takes over at an important juncture of Qatar’s development. Qatar has transformed its economy and raised its international profile. I am confident that you will build on the legacy of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani and continue to improve your peoples’ lives.
Singapore and Qatar enjoy excellent ties, underpinned by frequent high-level exchanges and wide-ranging cooperation. The Qatar-Singapore High Level Joint Committee, which Your Highness had co-chaired, is an excellent platform to strengthen our partnership. I look forward to working with Your Highness to take our bilateral relations to new heights.
