MFA Press Statement: Leaders' Retreat Between Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak

Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak will visit Singapore from 18 to 19 February 2013 for a Leaders’ Retreat with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The annual Leaders’ Retreat is a key bilateral platform for the Prime Ministers to drive relations forward.

Prime Minister Lee and Mrs Lee will host a private dinner for Prime Minister Najib and his wife Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor on 18 February 2013.  The Prime Ministers and their Ministerial delegations will meet on 19 February 2013 morning for bilateral discussions.  In the afternoon, the Prime Ministers will make site visits to the joint ventures by Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd and Khazanah Nasional Bhd in Singapore and in Iskandar Malaysia.  In Singapore, they will unveil the Marina One project in Marina Bay and receive an update on the DUO project in Ophir-Rochor, both mixed use developments.  They will then travel to Iskandar Malaysia where they will unveil the Urban Wellness and Resort Wellness projects in Medini, and do a ground-breaking for the Urban Wellness project.

Prime Minister Najib will be accompanied by his wife Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor, and a high-level delegation comprising several Cabinet Ministers and senior officials.  The Singapore delegation includes DPM, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean and several Cabinet Ministers.
