Minister for National Development Chee Hong Tat, who is also the Chairman of the Chinese Community Liaison Group (CCLG), made an introductory visit to the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA), where he met the President and Council Members together with several clan leaders.

Minister Chee Hong Tat Outlines Priorities as Chairman of the Chinese Community Liaison Group
Minister for National Development Chee Hong Tat, who was appointed Chairman of the Chinese Community Liaison Group (CCLG) on 23 May 2025, made an introductory visit to the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA), where he met the President and Council Members together with several clan leaders.
Mr Chee had a good discussion with SFCCA on how the Government and Chinese community organisations can continue to work closely together. They agreed to focus on the following three priority areas for CCLG’s work.
Leadership Development and Succession. CCLG and SFCCA will support local clan associations to develop a strong leadership pipeline and provide more opportunities for young people to take on leadership positions within the Chinese community.
Development of Capabilities and Programmes. Clan associations must continue to strengthen their capabilities and offer programmes that appeal to the Chinese community, including the younger generation. CCLG and SFCCA will work with the clan associations to facilitate the sharing of best practices and provide support for new ideas.
Strengthen Integration and Cohesion. Clan associations and other Chinese community organisations, such as religious organisations and cultural groups, play an important role in fostering social cohesion and strengthening integration between Singaporeans and new immigrants. CCLG and SFCCA will continue to look for opportunities to help new immigrants integrate into our society and contribute to Singapore’s progress and social compact.
Mr Chee is joined by 32 Members of Parliament on the CCLG (see Annex). The CCLG members will work as a team and engage various segments of the Chinese community to deepen the Government’s relationship with community organisations and strengthen its cooperation with Chinese community groups.

徐芳达部长部长作为华社联络组主席的未来工作重点
国家发展部长徐芳达于2025年5月23日受委为华社联络组主席，对新加坡宗乡会馆联合总会进行介绍性访问，并与会长和理事会成员以及多位宗亲领袖会面。
徐部长与宗乡总会就政府与华社组织如何继续密切合作，进行了很好的讨论。他们同意将工作重点放在以下三个领域。
领导能力的培养和继承。华社联络组和宗乡总会将支持本地宗乡会馆建立新一代的领导班子，吸引更多年轻人加入华社，为传承方面的工作做好准备。
发展能力和方案。宗乡会馆必须继续加强实力，提供吸引华社，包括年轻一代的计划。华社联络组与新加坡宗乡会馆联合总会将与各宗乡会馆合作，促进会馆之间互相分享最佳实践做法与新点子，相互学习。
加强一体化和凝聚力。宗乡会馆和其他华社组织，如宗教团体和文化团体，在促进社会凝聚力和加强国人与新移民之间的融合方面，扮演着重要的角色。华社联络组和新加坡宗乡会馆联合总会将继续寻找机会，帮助新移民融入我国社会，为新加坡的进步和社会契约作出贡献。
除了徐部长之外，华社联络组还有32名成员（见附件）。华社联络组成员将携手合作，联系华社各阶层，深化政府与社区组织的关系，并加强与华社组织的合作。
