Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will make an Official Visit to Brunei Darussalam from 9 to 10 October 2026.
Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will visit Brunei Darussalam from 9 to 10 October 2026 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Singapore-Brunei defence relations.
Prime Minister Wong and His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, will attend a Joint Parade at Muara Naval Base on 10 October. The parade will feature personnel and operational assets from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). Following the parade, Prime Minister Wong and His Majesty will jointly launch a Commemorative Gallery showcasing key milestones in the bilateral defence relationship over the past 50 years. Prime Minister Wong will also attend a lunch hosted by His Majesty.
Prime Minister Wong will visit SAF personnel training in Temburong and interact with them on their training experiences in Brunei.
Prime Minister Wong will also witness the delivery of four Light Fire Attack Vehicles developed by Singapore company HOPE Technik and customised for Brunei’s operational requirements to the Brunei Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Prime Minister Wong will be accompanied by Mrs Wong, Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Member of Parliament Rachel Ong, as well as officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During Prime Minister Wong’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry (Trade) Gan Kim Yong will be the Acting Prime Minister.
