PM Lawrence Wong to Visit the People's Republic of China (Mar 2026)

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will make an Official Visit to Hainan and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) from 25 to 28 March 2026.
Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will visit Hainan and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the People’s Republic of China from 25 to 28 March 2026.
In Hainan, Prime Minister Wong will deliver a keynote speech at the Opening Plenary of the 2026 Bo’ao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference. The theme for this year’s Conference is “Shaping a Shared Future: New Dynamics, New Opportunities, New Cooperation”. Prime Minister Wong will attend a Welcome Dinner hosted by the Hainan government and the BFA Secretariat for leaders attending the Conference. Prime Minister Wong will also have bilateral meetings with Chairman of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji and Secretary of the Communist Party of China Hainan Provincial Committee Feng Fei.
In Hong Kong, Prime Minister Wong will meet with, and be hosted to lunch by, HKSAR Chief Executive John Lee. In addition, Prime Minister Wong will meet Hong Kong political and business leaders. Prime Minister Wong will visit key sites in the Northern Metropolis to gain a better understanding of Hong Kong’s economic and development trajectory and explore new opportunities for collaboration between our two cities. Prime Minister Wong will also engage Singaporeans in Hong Kong at a reception.
Prime Minister Wong will be accompanied by Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth Low Yen Ling, and Senior Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of National Development Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, and officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Ministry of National Development.
During Prime Minister Wong’s absence, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs K Shanmugam will be the Acting Prime Minister.
