PM Lee Hsien Loong will make a working visit to Germany, visiting Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, from 6 to 11 July.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make a working visit to Germany from 6 to 11 July 2017 at the invitation of Her Excellency Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Prime Minister Lee will visit Berlin on 6 July 2017, Hamburg from 7 to 8 July 2017 to attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit, and Munich from 9 to 11 July 2017. The visit will reaffirm our excellent ties with Germany, a close and like-minded partner.
In Berlin, Prime Minister Lee will be hosted to lunch by Chancellor Merkel. They will discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
In Hamburg, Prime Minister Lee will participate in the G20 Leaders’ Summit discussions on global economic growth, trade and finance, digitalisation and jobs, as well as other global challenges such as climate change and public health. Prime Minister Lee will also have bilateral meetings with other leaders on the sidelines of the Summit.
In Munich, Prime Minister Lee will have roundtable discussions with business leaders from top German Multinational Corporations, Mittelstand and World Market Leaders. He will be the Guest-of-Honour at the Certificate Presentation Ceremony for the newly-appointed Singapore Economic Ambassadors for the Mittelstand, and at Siemens’ launch of their Singapore Digitalisation Hub. Prime Minister Lee will also attend a National Day Reception with the Singapore Community in Germany.
Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat, as well as senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, the Economic Development Board and Monetary Authority of Singapore.
During Prime Minister Lee’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean will be the Acting Prime Minister.
