Press Statement from the Prime Minister on Changes to Cabinet and Other Appointments (Oct 2016)

PM Lee Hsien Loong announced changes to Cabinet and other appointments  on 28 October 2016.

 

The Prime Minister will promote Mr Ong Ye Kung and Mr Ng Chee Meng to full Ministers. They will continue with their existing portfolios.

Mr Ng Chee Meng will be Minister as Minister for Education (Schools) and concurrently 2nd Minister in the Ministry of Transport; and Mr Ong Ye Kung will be Minister as Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and concurrently 2nd Minister in the Ministry of Defence.

These promotions are part of leadership renewal and will take effect on 1 November 2016. Annex A gives the details of the appointments and changes.
