Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will make an official visit to Fujian Province in the People’s Republic of China from 26 to 30 October 2009 at the invitation of the Fujian Government.

Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will make an official visit to Fujian Province in the People’s Republic of China from 26 to 30 October 2009 at the invitation of the Fujian Government. SM will visit Xiamen, Quanzhou and Fuzhou. While in Quanzhou, SM will stop over at his ancestral village in Wuling, Yongchun County.
During the visit, SM will meet Fujian Party Secretary Lu Zhangong and Fujian Governor Huang Xiaojing, and the leaders of Xiamen, Quanzhou and Fuzhou. SM will be briefed on recent economic developments in Fujian Province and explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation. SM will also meet prominent business leaders, visit projects by Singapore-based companies in Fujian, and meet overseas Singaporeans working and living in Fujian.
SM will be accompanied by Mrs Goh, Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Manpower Lee Yi Shyan, Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Industry and Information, Communications and the Arts Sam Tan, Member of Parliament Denise Phua, senior officials and a business delegation.
