Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make Official Visits to Kazakhstan from 24 to 27 August 2026, and to Uzbekistan from 27 to 31 August 2026.
Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make Official Visits to Kazakhstan from 24 to 27 August 2026, and to Uzbekistan from 27 to 31 August 2026. This will be Senior Minister Lee’s first visit to Central Asia.
In Kazakhstan, Senior Minister Lee will visit Astana and Almaty. In Astana, he will call on President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev, and Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev. Senior Minister Lee will be conferred the Order of Dostyk (Friendship) of the First Class Award by President Tokayev. He will also deliver a lecture at Nazarbayev University, where he will be conferred an Honorary Professorship. In Almaty, Senior Minister Lee will be hosted to lunch by the Akim (Mayor) of Almaty Darkhan Satybaldy and meet Singapore and Kazakh business leaders.
In Uzbekistan, Senior Minister Lee will visit Tashkent and Samarkand. In Tashkent, Senior Minister Lee will call on President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov. He will deliver a speech at the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (Uzbek Parliament). In Samarkand, Senior Minister Lee will be hosted to lunch by the Governor of Samarkand Region Adiz Boboev.
Senior Minister Lee will be accompanied by Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Member of Parliament Foo Cexiang, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Prime Minister’s Office.
