His Majesty Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Badlishah, the Yang di-Pertuan XIV of Malaysia, began his three-day State Visit to Singapore today.
His Majesty and Her Majesty Tuanku Sultanah Hajah Haminah binti Haji Hamidun, the Raja Permaisuri Agong, received a ceremonial welcome at the Istana and paid a courtesy call on President Tony Tan and Mrs Mary Tan.
President and His Majesty expressed their satisfaction with the friendly state of bilateral relations. Both leaders noted the wide-ranging cooperation between both countries and the good progress being made in major initiatives to enhance connectivity, trade and investment, and people-to-people ties between both countries. In the evening, President and Mrs Tan will host a State Banquet at the Istana in honour of Their Majesties.
