The President has appointed Mr Vinodh Sabesan Coomaraswamy, age 48, presently a Judicial Commissioner, as a Judge of the High Court under Article 95(1) of the Constitution with effect from 24 June 2013. He was sworn in at a ceremony held at Istana today.
Mr Vinodh Coomaraswamy was appointed a Judicial Commissioner on 1 August 2012. He graduated from Nottingham University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Laws (Upper Second Class Honours) degree and from Oxford University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Civil Law (Second Class Honours) degree. He joined the law firm, Shook Lin & Bok, in 1992 and became a partner in 1999. He was appointed a Senior Counsel in 2005.
