Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will attend the 30th ASEAN Summit in Manila, the Philippines, from 28 to 29 April 2017.
This is the first of two meetings among ASEAN Leaders that the Philippines will be hosting as ASEAN Chair in 2017. ASEAN Leaders will meet to discuss ways to strengthen ASEAN Centrality and unity in line with the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, as ASEAN celebrates its Golden Jubilee. They will also exchange views on ASEAN’s external relations and discuss regional and international issues.
PM will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will be the Acting Prime Minister in PM’s absence.
