48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, the Philippines - May 2026

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong attended the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, the Philippines, on 8 May 2026. 

The ASEAN Leaders discussed ways to strengthen the region’s trade, energy and food security and to accelerate the region’s green energy transition amidst the supply chain disruptions and rising energy prices due to the situation in the Middle East. They also discussed strengthening collaboration with ASEAN’s external partners to advance shared priorities and reinforce regional stability.

PM Wong met with leaders from Cambodia, Malaysia, and Thailand on the sidelines of the Summit.
