ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit in Kazan, Russia - Jun 2025

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong visited Kazan, Russia, from 17 to 18 June 2026 to attend the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit (ARCS) at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Summit marked the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia relations and the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Partnership. PM Wong welcomed Russia’s support for ASEAN Centrality and encouraged continued cooperation in areas of shared interest, such as disaster management, combatting illicit drugs, and people-to-people exchanges.

As part of the ARCS programme, PM Wong met with President Putin at Russia’s request, and exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional and international developments. PM Wong also met with the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and discussed cooperation in several areas including culture, education and people-to-people ties.

PM Wong departed Kazan on 19 June 2026, and met President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in İstanbul, Türkiye before returning to Singapore.
