Official Visit by Indonesian President Joko Widodo - Jul 2015

President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo made a State Visit to Singapore from 28 to 29 July 2015. This was President Joko Widodo’s first official visit to Singapore. President Joko Widodo was accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and a high-level ministerial delegation.

On Tuesday, 28 July 2015, there was an official Welcome Ceremony in honour of President Joko Widodo at the Istana. President Joko Widodo then had a meeting with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Both leaders witnessed the signing of three agreements:

i.the Memorandum of Understanding on Electronic Government Cooperation between the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Republic of Singapore, which will facilitate the sharing of experiences and knowledge on the development of electronic government;

ii.the Memorandum of Understanding on Youth and Sports Cooperation between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of the Republic of Singapore, which aims to strengthen collaboration on youth and sports development between Indonesia and Singapore; and

iii.the Strategic Cooperation agreement between the Indonesia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), which aims to enhance economic cooperation between the two business chambers.

After the signing, both leaders held a joint press conference. PM also hosted President Joko Widodo and his delegation to lunch at the Istana.
