Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders' Programme - Nov 2025

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong visited the Negara Brunei Darussalam from 3 to 4 November 2025 for the 11th Singapore–Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP), at the invitation of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Negara Brunei Darussalam.

During his visit, PM Wong had audiences with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Billah. He was also hosted to lunch by His Majesty the Sultan and a welcome dinner by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.

PM Wong remarked that he had a great catch-up with His Majesty and His Royal Highness, during which they discussed the future of the Singapore–Brunei partnership, including the upcoming 50th anniversary of defence ties and the 60th anniversary of the Currency Interchangeability Agreement.

During the trip, PM Wong also visited various health-related facilities in Jerudong, and met Singaporean businessmen based in Brunei, who shared their experiences and discussed new opportunities for cooperation.
