Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. met Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong on 31 May 2024. President Macros was in Singapore to deliver the keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue.

They discussed ways to collaborate in emerging areas such as the digital economy, carbon credits and renewable energy while agreeing that the progress made in bilateral cooperation could serve as a building block towards an integrated ASEAN.

Singapore and the Philippines commemorate the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. Both countries share a warm and longstanding friendship, anchored by strong people-to-people ties.
