10 April 2026
Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong welcomed Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to Singapore for an official visit on 10 April 2026.
The two Prime Ministers held a meeting, followed by a joint press conference, and Prime Minister Wong hosted a lunch in honour of Prime Minister Albanese.
Both leaders reaffirmed the strong bilateral relationship and deep strategic trust between Singapore and Australia, as reflected in the Australia-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership 2.0 (CSP 2.0). The enhanced CSP 2.0 outlines the next phase of cooperation to support shared prosperity, security, and stability.
They discussed the global energy situation and underscored the importance of maintaining open, rules-based trade. They also signed a Joint Statement on Economic Resilience and Essential Supplies, setting out concrete steps to strengthen supply chain resilience.
Both Prime Ministers highlighted the importance of their countries’ roles in each other’s energy security. Singapore is one of Australia’s top suppliers of refined petroleum products, while Australia is a key supplier of liquefied natural gas to Singapore.
