Visit by Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon - May 2026

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong welcomed Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon to Singapore for an official visit on 4 May 2026.
The two Prime Ministers held the inaugural Singapore-New Zealand Annual Leaders’ Meeting, where they discussed global and regional developments such as the current energy crisis, supply chain resilience, international trade and investment partnerships.
Following the meeting, the PMs witnessed the signing of the Agreement on Trade in Essential Supplies (AOTES), a first-of-its-kind legally binding bilateral agreement to ensure the continued flow of essential supplies during supply chain disruptions. PM Wong also hosted lunch a lunch in honour of PM Luxon.
Earlier that morning, both PMs delivered the opening address at the Singapore-New Zealand Leadership Forum. The Forum brought senior business leaders from both countries together and foster opportunities for them to build new partnerships and seize opportunities in the region.
Both leaders reaffirmed the longstanding bilateral relationship and deep trust between Singapore and New Zealand and welcomed the good progress in bilateral cooperation since the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) launched in October 2025.
