Visit to Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian Territories – Apr 2016

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong made an official visit to Jordan from 16 to 18 April 2016, followed by Israel from 18 to 22 April 2016 and the Palestinian Territories on 20 April 2016.

While in Jordan, PM was hosted to lunch by His Majesty King Abdullah II. He met Prime Minister and Defence Minister Abdullah Ensour and Chief Advisor for Religious and Cultural Affairs Prince Ghazi Bin Muhammad Bin Talal.

In Israel, PM called on President Reuven Rivlin and met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. PM also met former President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shimon Peres. In addition, PM visited the Hebrew University and received a Doctor Philosophiae Honoris Causa as well as witnessed the signing of an agreement between Hebrew University and the National Research Foundation to facilitate research collaboration in Singapore.

In the Palestinian Territories, PM met with and was hosted to lunch by Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority Rami Hamdallah, and laid a wreath at the mausoleum of the first President of the Palestinian National Authority Yasser Arafat.
